On behalf of the Shelter Manager, Lippman Youth Shelter Staff, and clients we would like to express our sincere thanks for the kindness and generosity you have shown in donating your time and energy into painting our facility.
As you know, Lutheran Services Florida has shelters that house abused and neglected children, homeless, children, children who may have ran away from home, and children who have been locked out of their homes. It is a special treat for them to know that there are people in the community who care about them enough to donate various items as well as help makd them feel important and lvoed. It is church organizations like yours that helps to make a difference in the lives of the youth in which we serve.
As always, the staff and children at Lutheran Services Florida/Lippman Youth Shelter are grateful for your support. Again, many thanks for your donations and hard work we greatly appreciate everything you do.
Sincerely,
Alexander Browne
Shelter Services Manager
Seminarian Sunday

Sunday, April 26th was a wonderful day. We celebrated our Seminarian Endowment fund and the success of our 6th Annual Golf Tournament the day before. Below are some pictures. The guest preacher was Reverend Dale Meyer from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO.

Reverend Meyer engaging the congregation during his sermon.

What a celebration! The service started outside by our fountain.

There wasn't a whole lot of room in the sanctuary.

Some photos of one of our seminarians, Billy Brath.

The youth (maybe future seminarians) added to the festivities with a bake sale to support their mission trips.
FUNdraising for Jesus

Some Youth from St. Paul leading a worship program in Wisconsin.
St. Paul Youth (S.P.Y.) is almost done preparing for it's summer mission trips. Four major important fundraisers have prepared this wonderful group of kids for their travel. The fundraisers (two bakes sales, a carwash, and 2nd Annual BBQ Summer Kickoff) raised over $3,000 for mission work. However, the rewards of the fundraisers go far beyond the financial benefits. With about 200 hours of work put in for the fundraisers, the kids we able to learn more about eachother and the work that they will be doing this summer. In addition, the fundraisers also worked as recruitment events. Additional people signed up and have joined the youth group after attending some of the events.
Please keep the group in your prayers as they will be flying to North Carolina on June 16th and returning on the 28th. The youth, and some adults, will be participating in a life-changing ministy called Spoke Folk. Also, if you will be in North Carolina on those dates there is a good chance that you may be able to see the group. E-mail Bobby for more information on the trip's schedule. All are welcome at the worships services that will be shared throughout the 12 days of the trip.
Details on the ministry Spoke Folk are available at www.spokefolk.org.
